Originally trained as a classic ASP developer I made the move to .Net in 2005 and have been developing web based solutions since 2001, such as CMS, E-Commerce and Bespoke sites, using:
- ASP.NET and classic ASP
- C#
- VB.Net
- MS SQL Server 2000 / 2005
- MS Access
- JavaScript and more recently jQuery
- XML/XSLT
I'm not a designer, so take designs from designers in project, which I can convert to CSS, and incorporate into a working database driven solution. I am very keen on developing Accessible websites and have been a registered member of GAWDS since 2004.
I've done all kinds of sites [LINK TO PORTFOLIO] - from simple 5 or 6 page static sites to bespoke e-Commerce solutions and Content Management Systems of various sizes and complexity. I am currently Lead Developer on a Managed Learning Environment project for a leading financial institution, phase 1 going live April 2009.
I have considerable experience in designing and developing large and small databases mostly with MS SQL Server 2000 and more recently 2005. I have worked as a Database Administrator for a national charity and am used to working on databases with hundreds of tables many containing millions of rows and am pleased to say that even under heavy usage they performed very well.
I am available for short term work. All skills are subject to availability, acceptance of a quote and a signed contract.
I am a .Net Developer and have been working with .Net since just before
version 2.0 came out, so I remember 1.1 but its a fading memory. I have
built bespoke e-Commerce websites and Content Management Systems and am
currently Lead Developer on a Managed Learning Environment project for
a leading financial institution, phase 1 going live January 2009.
I got married in February 2008 to my beautiful wife Nikki and we are expecting our first child at the end of the year.
My hobbies include philosophy (the art of arguing according to some) and Genbukan Ninpo Bugei which is a traditional Japanese martial art, the origins of which date back to 700BC
